oil on board 12" x 16" signed lower right Kaula was a Boston artist, who with his wife, Lee Lufkin Kaula, had a studio in Boston at the famous Fenway Studios on Ipswich St.He also maintained a studio in New Ipswich,New Hampshire during the summers. William Jurian Kaula was a student of Edmund Tarbell, a fellow Bostonian. Kaula had one-man shows at the prestigious Copley Gallery in Boston; Boston Art Club; PAFA annuals 1901-04,1909-21;Corcoran Gal. biennials 1926,1928; Paris Salon 1898; Art Inst. of Chicago, and many others.
