"Nude figure: study for a mural" oil on canvas 42" x 30" signed lower left . In 1892 selected as one of eight commissioned to decorate domes in Liberal Arts Building of World's Columbian Exposition. From 1893, mural painting was a major part of his work. The same year Reid won a medal at the exposition. Awarded gold and silver medals at the Exposition Universelle in 1900. Several medals awarded in other expositions. 1906 elected member of the National Academy. Reid was a founding member of Ten American Painters, a group formed to promote impressionism in the U.S.
